I feel like I need to approach the podium, clear my throat, and just let it all out: "I, Christopher, do declare that Indie Lee's Brightening Cleanser is my favorite cleanser of all time." There. I've said it. Not that I'm ashamed to admit it or anything, certainly not. But for someone who uses and loves so many damn cleansers in the world, it's almost like picking a favorite child! I said I can't pick a favorite child, but Indie Lee's cleanser constantly brings home gold stars, E for Excellent on its conduct card, and superior performance results.
It's a gentle, thorough, strawberry-oil infused, largely plant-derived, and lathering cleanser - but don't be scared if you think this is a foam cleanser in the traditional sense... it isn't. To my knowledge, the cleansing agent in here is coconut derived so it's much gentler than your typical soap - but just as effective.
The sensation of using this is very strange, I must admit. Working it into non-dampened skin gives this tacky and mildly sticky feel - not unlike the feeling of blending in MAC Face & Body, if you're familiar. Adding in a bit of water produces this rich lather that goes away just as quickly as it forms. When you rinse or wipe this away, you're left with no residue or tackiness - just clean skin. You really only need one pump to do the face and neck, which I'm a big fan of personally.
It makes a fabulous second cleanse or morning time cleanse. While it does remove makeup, I wouldn't wanna waste the strawberry goodness on some Chanel foundation - regardless of how much I love it.
I'm almost done with my current bottle, and after it's all gone, I'm going to immediately rip into a new one. It's just so yummy. I bought a bottle for both my mom and grandma last Christmas and they both love it. That's how you tell something is great right? When people you love tell you they love something!
Indie is a dear friend, and I must say that this cleanser is where it all started! She told me that she recommends this for everyone, unless you have sensitive skin because the strawberry oil can be a bit much - in which case her Rose Hips cleanser might be better. She uses this to take eye makeup off at night.
I would completely agree that this cleanser is truly suitable for all skin types - which is a rarity in the world of cleansers.
