Very rarely does a one-size-fits-all product come along. The Dr. Dennis Gross All-in-One Cleanser with Toner is one of those products. It removes makeup, cleans the skin, and leaves the face feeling balanced after it's removed. That's right - balanced. This lotion-textured cleanser doesn't foam nor lather. Instead, it gets mildly creamy when water is added and rinses away clean. Of course I cloth it off, but I've used it without a muslin and it was still excellent. I think this cleanser would be fantastic for all skin types, which is a rarity in the cleansing world. It removes makeup, but I feel like it's much better as a second cleanse or morning cleanse.
It's actually quite hard to verbalize how this makes your skin feel, since most of us have probably experienced either a cleanser that was too stripping and make the skin feel tight and dry, or one that left a greasy film or oily residue behind. This does neither of that - the skin just feels like it's in total harmony. Although there's a toner "built in" to this product, I would still follow with a toner afterwards because I've succumb to the pleasures of swiping a damp cotton pad over my face.
The amount of witch hazel water in this cleanser will certainly help to refine the pores a bit, but I don't think it should mean that you stop using your toner - especially if your toner has other benefits to it.

This is what I like to see. No SLS, no fragrance, no irritants, and nothing overwhelming. While I love treatment-based cleanser with some fruit enzymes or rich oils, sometimes I just need a cleanser to do the job without any frills. That's when I reach for this. It's not the most exciting product in the world, but it's the workhorse that doesn't get the applause it deserves. Plus it comes in a big six ounce bottle - and with a pump!
This is a standout product in two different respects: in the cleanser market, and in Dr. Dennis Gross' range. If you just need a good cleanser that gets the job done without any frills, look no further.
